MyBloodTest review

iPhone, Android, web

Optional paid plans; scan and AI limits apply

What it does well

Review a PDF or photo before saving, browse results by date, and compare biomarker trends. Supported mobile wellness imports add context. CSV export and revocable, PIN-protected links help you take your history to a doctor. Separate child profiles keep family results apart.

Biomarker trends, cited reference ranges and optional AI summaries of saved results. Wellness context is available on supported mobile platforms.

What to know before choosing

Scan and AI allowances vary by plan. Scanning needs an account and cloud processing; originals are stored in your account. Web results use cloud storage. Wellness imports are for your own mobile profile, depend on permissions and do not sync across devices. MyBloodTest does not provide lab tests or clinician consultations.

Read the 16 feature checks
Free use
A continuing free route for adding to a personal lab history, including manual entry. A trial or read-only access does not qualify.
A continuing free allowance for extracting lab values from reports. One-off onboarding scans do not qualify; this does not measure the size of the allowance.
Report imports
Automatic extraction or an assisted-entry service qualifies. Merely storing an attachment does not.
Import clinical lab records through a supported patient portal or Apple Health Clinical Records connection. File uploads alone do not qualify.
Trends & context
Dated lab history with charts or result comparisons.
Supported connections that bring measurements such as activity or sleep into the product. Manual journal notes alone do not qualify.
Device access
Released native apps on both platforms. A mobile-friendly website alone does not qualify.
A browser workspace for your saved lab history, not just a marketing site.
File exports
Download structured lab values through the product. A data request to support is not a self-service export.
A generated result or history report. Downloading the original uploaded document or printing the browser does not qualify.
Sharing & family
Both an expiry option and a way to revoke access. A downloaded file cannot be revoked.
An explicitly supported parent-managed child workflow. An adult-only account policy does not by itself establish whether child profiles are supported.
Reference context
Personal users can enter ranges or choose among available reference sources. A separate clinician-only customization tool is not enough.
Cited references for biomarker explanations or reference ranges. This does not establish clinical accuracy.
Local tracking
A documented local tracking workflow. Cloud scanning, optional sync and online sharing can still use servers.
Add and view personal lab history without an account. A demo or onboarding preview does not qualify.

Choosing an app

A few practical questions before you move your results.

What is the best app to track blood test results?

For everyday personal tracking, this guide recommends MyBloodTest: free manual tracking, reviewed report imports, dated history, trend charts and sharing on iPhone, Android and the web. Scan and AI allowances vary by plan. Guava is a strong alternative for connected medical records, while Health3 suits flexible mobile PDF reporting. The recommendation is made by MyBloodTest, the publisher, using the criteria explained above.

Is there a free blood test tracker?

Yes. MyBloodTest includes free manual entry and result tracking with no time limit, plus optional paid plans. Scan and AI allowances vary by plan. Guava also offers free tracking and connected records, while automatic extraction from uploaded lab reports is a Premium feature. Free download, free document storage and free automatic extraction are different things.

Can I move results from another app or laboratory?

Often, but the format matters. A PDF upload, a structured CSV import and a live patient portal connection are different routes. Check which your chosen app supports. Keep the originals, try one report first and review the patient, collection date, biomarker, value, unit and reference range before saving. A file import does not create a continuous connection to the old account.

Can a blood test app replace a doctor?

No. Organizing results, displaying reference ranges and generating AI explanations do not establish a diagnosis. Clinician review is a separate service and should be explicitly included if offered. Use your saved history to prepare questions for a qualified clinician, who can interpret results in your medical context.

What does “analyze” mean in a blood test app?

It can mean plotting changes, explaining biomarkers or generating AI summaries. These are different from clinician review, which some testing memberships include as a separate service. Check what information an explanation uses and whether it requires a paid plan. A chart or AI summary does not establish a diagnosis.

How should I try an app before moving my history?
  1. Try one report you know well. Check the person, date, values, units and lab ranges.
  2. Make a correction to see how easily you can fix a mistake.
  3. Add an older result and check that the history and units line up.
  4. Try the export or sharing option you would use at an appointment.
Could my patient portal be enough?

Yes, especially if you only need occasional access to results from one provider. On iPhone, Apple Health Records can download records from participating providers. Availability depends on the provider and region.
